Chime making grinding sound after doorbell rung

troubleshooting

We installed our Ring after moving into our newly built house. It worked fine for about 6 months, but lately when the bell is rung the chime will sound normally at first and then gets stuck on a grinding sound. It eventually stops, but happens each time the bell is rung. We assumed the chime was defective and submitted a request for the builder to fix. When electricians came out they tried several things. When the removed the Ring bell and used the original push button, the chime worked perfectly. They said there could be something wrong with the Ring but since they didn’t install they couldn’t fix it.

Hi @user22782. I'm glad the electricians were able to verify that your pre-existing chime is working properly. You can try [rebooting the Video Doorbell from the Ring app](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/7438395032980-How-to-Reboot-your-Ring-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera-from-the-Ring-App-) to see if it helps. If you have tried that step and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) for further assistance. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support.
