Ring Video Doorbell
Bought house with 2nd generation that's hard wired, can't enter setup
We recently bought a home that has a 2nd Generation video doorbell installed (Model 5UM5E5), which is hard wired. I can't get the device to enter setup mode. When I follow the steps in the app and press the orange button on the back, nothing happens. The device flashes one full blue ring at 40 second intervals, and has been doing so for days. 1. The previous owner has released the device from their account 2. The device is hard wired 3. I attempted a factory reset by holding down the orange button for 15+ seconds, nothing seems to have happened. I feel a bit stuck! Nothing seems to be working. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the device isn't getting power from the house? But it was working fine for the previous owner and we've changed nothing. I checked the breakers and wires and they all seem fine. Thank you! Chris

Hi @chris35. I would first recommend plugging this Doorbell in to charge until the battery is at 100%. Next, hold the setup button down for 20 seconds, or until you see the light pattern on the front of the Doorbell change. After the Doorbell successfully completes a reset, it should enter Setup Mode.
