Wired Floodlight Cam - LEDs not lighting

My lights are not lighting on my floodlight camera. They come on very dim and one lights up a little more than the other. Seems like a relay or something failed on the inside or the lights burned out. I have tried cycling power and a hard reset. This did resolve the problem. Was there a firmware push that caused this issue? How can I see when I installed this device? What else can I do? This

My outdoor flood lights have become extremely dim, to the point where the light emitted from them isn’t enough to light up anything. What could cause this and what is the fix? Thank you

I'm having the same problem. My floodlight is about a year old. And when I say very dim, it's like not as bright as an indoor night light. I tried cycling power, but I did not try the hard reset. I misread the post from KJ, I thought they said that the cycling of power and hard reset did NOT work. I will try the hard reset.

Hi neighbors! Power cycling the Floodlight Cam by disconnecting power for about a minute is a good start. If you haven't already, I would also definitely recommend trying a reset as @KJ had mentioned in their original post. To reset your Floodlight Cam, you'll just want to hold down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. After the reset is done, set the Camera back up in the Ring App using the steps under Set Up a Device. If the lights still appear to be too dim after completing these suggested steps, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). They'll be able to pull up your account and device in order to take a closer look. I’m having the same issue. Called and of course my 1 year warranty is up. My Floodlights are only 3 years old. LED lights are supposed to last 10+ years! I called ring tech and they walked me through the steps i already did and still no working lights. I am beyond disappointed that they offer a 35% discount instead of replacing my floodlight since it’s obviously a hardware issue on their end. If it was 5+ years old I’d consider a new one but it’s only been 3 years. I will be throwing out both ring cameras as soon as i buy new floodlights and a different security camera system.

The solution after a few trouble shooting attempts from Michelle was to replace the whole floodlight camera for $200.00. This camera is only about 2 years old. My floodlight camera is under a carport and not directly exposed to sun, rain, or snow. This seems like an extremely short life for a failure in non-extreme conditions. I don't believe it's the LED's that failed but something on the control side. I recommend steering clear of the combination floodlight until they can builds these with reliable components. If you do a little checking you'll see this is a common failure. Some people are lucky enough to have it fail under warranty and get a new one for free. Unfortunately, this was not my experience. This is a shame, as I liked this setup but if this is the failure rate and Ring's response I'll have to look somewhere else as this is clearly an internal problem. On the flip side Michelle (CS) was very nice and professional.

Just noticed the exact same issue happening to my floodlight cam. It is about 2 years old. You can hear the relay clicking when turning on the lights, but they are so dim that they are effectively off. Seems like these things are only built to last between 1-2 years judging by a search of how many times this issue comes up, conveniently out of warranty. Ring refuses to admit to any sort of hardware design fault and issue a recall or provide replacement units, instead choosing to blame the customer's wifi or power connections. Pretty disappointing. Definitely won't be recommending any Ring products to family and friends anymore given how they treat their customers and don't stand behind their products.
