Wired camara is jerky
I have several wired cams, one of which works well in terms of smoothness. The other two are located at a corner of the garage and when I watch it live it studders ever second or so. The images of grass on live change and recordings have 1 second gaps in them. The only difference is that the signal strength is 50 on the good cams but about 62 on the others. I have a new mesh router and can set the link to be 2.4 or 5 GHz but to no avail. It almost seems like the units could use more buffering memory but what sticks out is the signal strength. I've ordered a 4th mesh unit to put in the 1st floor garage almost directly below the cams so we'll see what happens. Anybody else have this issue?

Hey Justin. I installed an additional mesh unit pretty much right under the two cameras and maybe 6 feet away. Both cams went from a signal strength of maybe 61 to 49 and 50. No change at all. The two units are still jerky with about a 1 second period where is looks like it's resetting the cameras. This also manifests itself (I think) in that recordings have gaps in them, at about 1 second. Any ideas?

Hi @user_90c0e2. Thanks for sharing an update after installing your new mesh system. You mentioned the RSSI improving after adding an additional node, which is good. However, constant video stuttering does indicate an issue with the connection in some capacity. An occasional stutter can be expected as wireless connectivity isn't perfect, but it should not be happening consistently. When you download a video from the Event History, is the stuttering also present there? If it is, this means the issue is happening as the video is being recorded. If the stuttering is not present on downloaded videos, then the issue could be related to your phone's connection rather than the Ring Camera's connection.

Hi @user_90c0e2. A high signal strength can definitely affect video quality. Let us know what happens once you install the new mesh unit that's going to be closer to the cameras.
