Where is floodlight cam microphone? Etremely loud wind noise
Where is the floodlight cam microphone located? With some wind, the videos have very loud wind noise, and I am going to try and put tape or something over the microphone. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw some old posts with the same issue but no suggestions or solutions. Thanks.

@user10300 I did not receive any answer. I will try and remember to ask Ring Support the next time I call. Are you having problems with greatly reduced motion detection on your Floodlight Cams recently? I came on the Community tonight to see if others are experiencing this. I found one post and replied to it. If others are having this issue, it would be helpful if others would post and call and report to Ring Support. Starting a few years ago, I stopped getting email notifications when there are replies to my postings or threads that I have replied to. So, I don't know about replies until I log back in, which is not frequently.

RI too suffer from the ungodly wind noise. Crackling. I’ve found it best to view videos with the volume down. Also Meme! How you doing!? Be awhile since I’ve been on here!

M@user10300 @ringerone I spoke to Ring Support. If you have a generation 1 Floodlight Cam (the ones with the old metal mounting bracket and fully adjustable lights), the microphone is a small hole on the left-hand side of the rectangular body of the camera (when facing the Floodlight cam). It's on the upper half of the body--not on the front but the side panel. Hopefully that makes sense. I found it but have not had time to do anything with it. According to Ring Support, the recent versions (Plus and Pro) have the microphones inside the device with no external opening.

M@ringerone Hi! I'm hanging in there.... How are you doing? Apologies for the delayed reply. Back in 2019, the Ring Community stopped sending me email notifications about replies to my posts and subscribed threads, even though my settings are set for email notifications. Not sure why.... Do you get notification emails about posts? I find that the Ring stuff is stable for a period, then stuff inevitably breaks or has some weird glitch. So, then I log on to the Ring Community. Browse for a while; respond to what I can.... I wish Ring would add some notably better quality cameras and features. Not much has improved with their lineup. In fact, I think the quality of their products and support has gone down noticeably (e.g., the new all plastics Floodlight Cams). And still 1080p (ugh!). I don't think they are keeping up with competition.

Does anyone know where the 2021 Ring Floodlight Cam Pro Microphone is location. I am also getting a terrible wind noise basically makes audio unusable. Wondering if a microphone muff or dead cat would help? https://www.amazon.com/Cubilux-lavalier-Microphone-Outdoor-Windscreen/dp/B0B2D7CGRV/ref=sr_1_11?crid=1ZAXXCRD3YOO1&keywords=microphone%2Bmuff&qid=1704318675&sprefix=microphone%2Bmuff%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-11&th=1

M@user28958 Is that the gen 2 versions with the plastic mounting brackets? When I called Support, all they told me was that the microphone for the new versions was on the inside of the device (no external hole like on gen 1 that I have). You could try calling Support to ask. But it took me a couole calls until i reached someone who had to put me on hold for a bit to reach out to another team to find out the information. If there is no external mic hole, then is there anywhere to put muffler?

Any resolution to this question from Ring Tech Support? Want to know where the microphone is located so I can put a wind sock over it to reduce wind noise.
