Stick up cameras only record sometimes

I have 5 stick up battery powered cameras outside. They all have strong wifi signal, lots og power left on the battery and are updated. But they only record video less than half the time they detect motion. I've only had them for a few weeks and at first they worked fine. Do you have any ideal what is happening?
