Stick up cam with Solar Panel
So I've installed all and had a fully charged battery in it.. during the day it connects to the solar panel according to the app, but once the sun goes down.. my battery life goes down immediately and by morning its dead.. so each day I've been having to replace it with another one. Why is this happening.. what is wrong with this thing.. I mean i have the doorbell and that one last a very long time. Not the 6 months it says they will last though.. how can i make them last. and still get my alerts? How can this issue be fixed.. as i am tired of going up there every morning to replace the battery and also, what kind of security do i really have at night being its dying during the night. What is it.

@littlemom If you're receiving about 70 events per day, with about 20 Live Views, then the battery will drain much more quickly. You can try to reduce the number of motion events your Ring is experiencing on a daily basis by lowering the sensitivity and changing the [Motion Frequency](https://suppor

C@littlemom The Motion Frequency setting should be available under the Motion Settings option when you open the Ring App \> Main Menu \> Devices \> Stick Up Cam \> Motion Settings. I would also highly suggest giving our support team a call at one of the numbers available[here](https://support.ring.co

Have you found a solution yet? I have a week-old stick up cam and am having the same issue. It works fine during the day, but dies as soon as the sun goes down , then back the next morning. I get maybe 5 events and 1 live view per 24/hrs. Its like the solar panel isn’t handing off to the battery.

LMy solution was to buy a cord for it and plug it in.. cause nothing seems to work. What is the point of having a security camera if it keeps dying during the time you really need it most because you are sleeping. The really need to fix this issue.. cause no matter how much sun this thing gets it

KHi there, I was in contact with Ring customer care and they gave me a tip that does seem to work for me after monitoring it for the last couple of days. Reinstall the Ring Stick Cam altogether (not mandatory but good to do anyways I guess) but make sure set "Power Mode" to -Battery- in the general

Hi @littlemom. The battery on your Stick Up Cam should definitely not be draining every night. Approximately how many events does your Camera experience each day between motions and Live Views? You can check this by looking at the Event History log in the Ring App. I would also advise you to reset the Camera by holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds. After that's done, you can navigate to the Device Health screen and select the Reconnect to WiFi option to get it back up and running.
