Spotlight Pro Security Camera Design Flaw?

I recently purchased (from eBay) a brand new Spotlight Cam Plug-In. I set it up in the house ready for installation. This was done fairly easily. When installing it outside I removed the camera from the base to better adjust the angle of the camera. Unfortunately one of the retractable contacts now doesn’t make contact rending the whole camera worthless. I think this is a real design flaw to make the retractable contacts so fragile on a component that is so obviously meant to the detachable.I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up to not remove the camera from the base unless absolutely necessary. Oh and by the way the colours for the quick guide are awful, light grey on white is not easy to read!
