Spotlight Cam Plus (Wired) Light activation does not follow motion alert

I installed two Spotlight Cam Plus (wired) units on our home. The motion zone setup is just like our Ring doorbell and the Spotlight Cams detect motion from a good distance without fail. The issue I have with both of them is the spotlights do not activate unless a person walks up to within 6 feet of them yet the motion detection activates probably 25 feet away. The lights will activate at dusk when I walk up near to them yet when animals enter the yard the lights do not turn on even though I get the alerts that the cameras have detected motion and the animals are closer to the camera than I was. This isn't a matter of if it not being dark enough since they activate earlier in the evening at close distance. The Motion-Activated Lights slider in the app is on for both cameras and I do not see an option to create a zone for lighting only so my assumption is the light activation trigger should be the motion detection zone but they are not working like that. I can manually turn the lights on with the app. Smart Alerts is off. I've gone through all of the setting options in all of the tiles and can not find anything else to try. What else is there to try?

I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same device. I had a recording last night where a person was detected but the light didn’t come on even though the setting for motion activated lights is On. I wonder…. On the setting page for motion activated lights, the subheading says “turn on the lights when motion detected at night”. I have a streetlight outside. Does my camera maybe think it is daytime? Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity?

The lights of my cameras turn on if I walk back there at night but I have to get close before they activate. The motion alert goes off way before that. The lights DO NOT come on when the motion is registered until what ever triggered the alert is very close AND it has to be person sized. Animals set off the motion alert but not the lights? Are these defective?

Hi @UserDAT12135. I would also try rebooting the camera using the Ring app to see if that helps. If you have tried this step and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406#callus) for further assistance. If you are outside of the US, please visit [here ](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/213608406)to see how to contact support. Hi @user50952. Your concern seems a bit different, as your lights are not activating at all with motion detection at night. If there is lighting around where the Camera is, that will prevent it from activating its lights since it might be determining it's in a well-lit area. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust this setting.
