Ring Security Cameras
Socket wont fit
Just bought a Ring wireless spotlight cam. Cant seem to get the socket to click onto the cam body. Worried about putting too much pressure on it. Doesnt seem to be any adjustment. Can anyone help?

This has been driving me crazy, too! I came here to try to figure it out. It dawned on me that *maybe* the philips head screwdriver piece flipped around because it didn't make sense to have the 6 sided screw without the tool. Lo and behold, I was right! The metal tip flips around and we have the star shaped tool with the hole in the middle. Good luck!

OMG!! This was so trivial and yet I see I’m not the only one who had to come on here to figure it out. This should have been on the directions Ring!!! Get it together!!

Just tried to adjust the angle/direction of my cam. Of course it popped out of the socket. After reading the previous messages I managed to force it back in. Made one more attempt to align the camera just slightly and it popped right out again! Can't understand why or how it comes out so easily but it's so difficult to put it back. Almost broke my finger the second time. Still throbbing 30 minutes later. Be careful, folks! The alignment still isn't what I'd like but I'll have to leave it alone.

The screw to adjust color around the socket joint is a star security bit. It’s not Phillips screw bit. The tool they send flips around if you pull on it. One side is Phillips for screws and the other side is security star bit for the collar. I hope this helps because I was going nuts until I figured this out. And really Ding should have this info somewhere in the instructions. Not sure why they don’t say anything about it

Same problem. No amount of pressure gets the ball in the socket. The tool in the box does not unscrew it. I bought 3 spotlights and they all have this issue. The install video shows it easily snapping in but that is not the case. I spent a lot of time trying to fix this issue. Really frustrating!! 1hr or longer waiting for tech support. Definitely a design defect.
