  Hi @user58501. When installing the Hardwired Kit for Cameras, make sure to follow the installation instructions here. It is recommended to use a weatherproof silicone caulk or sealant in a few steps of the installation to prevent water or weather damage.

  I definitely put caulk where appropriate but this is the cover that goes over the exposed cables in the back. it should snap into place but it’s very flimsy and doesn’t snap into place firmly. Seems like not an ideal design so was just curious if this issue is seen often.

  I agree,  this cover is very flimsy and extremely poor fitting.  How on earth the designer of this component expects this to protect the usb connection is beyond me.  I fitted a Ring Spotlight Cam wired recently and was so shocked at this poor design that I complained to Ring. I have not received a response yet but it is early days to be fair.  In the meantime I have used silicone sealant to secure the cover but I don’t expect this to be a successful fix in the long term. The usb plus does have a seal around it but I’m not confident this is sufficient to prevent water ingress and cause problems  within the contacts inside.  Ring really need to make their products more. water resistant.  My latest cam is a replacement for a gen 1  Spotlight cam which failed due to water ingress.  Any future problems will force me to choose a different manufacturer for my security products, and I bet I’m not the only one with complaints
