Ring Doorbell Solar Charger
I purchased the ring doorbell with the solar charger last week. Even though the doorbell and solar charger are installed in direct sunlight for at least 4 hours every morning, the solar charger is not charging the battery. Any advice before I return to Ring?

Been going back and forth with Ring support about my solar charger. Disappointed that they can’t find a solution. My solar charger is in direct sunlight and it still doesn’t work. Ring has sent me a new one and I still have the same problem. I think their solar charger product is just not ready for the market. Highly disappointed.

I have the same problem , i installed my solar charger to my Ring Doorbell 3 a few days ago and battery is at 73% just now and keeps dropping so it is not really charging it . I have cloudy weather but i thought it would have charged with just daylight. I spent £50 on this solar charger , what a waste of money and i want my money back

I live in MN and have the same problem. I contacted support and it sounds like, for me, the problem may be the cold. But I do not recall what the performance on it was like in the summer. We will have to see if DIRECT sunlight will be more effective. I agree that the solar panel is not an effective product at this time.

Hello @duck_davis , What model Ring Video Doorbell do you have? The reason I ask this question is because if you own a Ring Video Doorbell 3 or the 3 "Plus", there are two things to note. 1. You may see an incorrect battery discharge/reporting when setting up your Ring Video Doorbell 3 or 3 "Plus" if the device is not **fully** charged before initial use. You may have to fully recharge the battery with the USB cord, if you did not do this prior to the initial installation. 2. In order to maximize the lifetime of the battery, the "Ring Video Doorbell 3 and 3 Plus" has an improved feature that waits for the battery to hit below 90% before using the wired/solar power begins to recharge the battery.
