Ring Security Cameras
Mounting the new indoor cam
I can find no pictures of the mounting support for the new indoor cam. What I need to do is mount an indoor camera inside the glass of a window. But I need to mount it from the side of the inside window casing. So the mount would need to come from the side, and rotate the camera to be upright. Can the mount do that? I can also buy mounts that do that for the stick-up cam, but I do not know if the indoor camera screw mounting in the back is the same for the indoor cam. Then I also need to find a way to turn off the infrared (which Ring does not let us do yet) or to cover the IR to eliminate reflection from the glass. I have some other brand cameras doing this now, but would like to switch to Ring if the camera is capable.

Yes, I have several of the V2 stick-up cams (now the elite) with the flexible mounts. And I love them. But I am looking for a smaller indoor cam for this purpose. I will just need to find someone who has one of the new indoor cams to look at. Or wait for more complete images on the Ring or amazon sites. No problem, no hurry.

Now that I have one, I can answer my own question. The indoor camera uses a swivel/ball mount. The mount can be attached to the top, bottom, or back of the camera. So with the existing mount there is no way to side mount the camera. I will see if I can come up with an idea for this. Good news, in the app you can turn off the IR for mounting behind glass!

AI had just asked support this a couple days ago. They stated that we aren’t able to change the IR lights. Where is this option? Thanks!

Menu \> Devices \> Camera \> Settings \> Video Settings \> IR Lights - turn off It explains what this does in the text below the slider. Again . . . only works for the indoor camera.

Also . . . as for side mounting. The solution for me was to created an angled disk mount (like Ring has for the doorbells) so the rear mounting option can swivel to the 90 degrees (does about 45 degrees on its own). It works Ring should consider including these like they so with the doorbell.

Good question @Brad ! The Indoor Cam is able to be mounted on a vertical surface, while remaining upright in view, and angled to face slightly inward or outward. The 115 degree horizontal field of view should certainly capture what you need. If not, our Stick Up Cam Elite is also a great Cam with many mounting options. Check these out on our [Cams Page](https://shop.ring.com/pages/security-cameras) :)
