Floodlight with no existing fixture- is a switch required?

Hello,I'm a new homeowner and this weekend I will be installing two ring flood lights to my house on the front and side.I've done some reasearch on these installations with no existing fixtures as well as normal flood lights with no existing fixtures. It seems like most of the time when a flood light is installed, people install a physical switch to it. I don't know if this is for safety reasons or if it is required, but I don't want to have to install one and would rather just tap into one of the boxes in our attic for a continuous power source. I just wanted to check with the ring community to see if this is okay, or if it's a bad idea for some reason?Thanks so much!
