Floodlight Cam Light Sensitivity
Users need to be able to change the light sensitivity on the floodlight cam. My light (not motion) constantly turns on all night if it is raining or snowing.

I’m having the same problem. My light activates ALL THE TIME over things such as gnats or just bugs. Makes the floodlight cam virtually unusable because we have to leave the light off so I don’t drive my neighbors crazy. My cheap motion light from Lowe’s never did that so why can’t the sensitivity be addressed?

I had an electrician installed 2 ring floodlight pro cameras in the front and rear of my home back in June of 2024. On October 22, 2024, my light would not go off or stay off when toggling the switch to turn it off. I tried rebooting my chime pro, and the ring camera but it did not resolve the problem. I also switch the equipment from the chime pro to WiFi and rebooted my WiFi and again the problem persisted. I contacted ring technical support and the representative patiently walked me through numerous trouble shooting techniques and nothing worked. The end result was for ring to send me out a replacement camera. After hanging up with him, I began to try my own trouble shooting tactics and when I adjusted the light sensitivity range, the lights stayed off. I am baffled as to why I didn’t have any problems with this light function for approximately 3 months with the sensitivity range being at maximum strength. Now all of a sudden I’m having problems. I also researched problems with ring and discovered that customers are complaining about issues with the lights in the flood cameras. Ring pretends to not have any knowledge of this problem. These cameras are expensive and they should not have these unfixable problems. We all need to file a class action suit against ring to have our voices and complaints heard. Replacing this camera is not going to resolve this problem. The light should not work if motion isn’t detected and the camera is not recording. My issue is that the light stays on but I’m not receiving any motion alerts nor is the camera recording. RING NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP OR REIMBURSE US.

SUGGESTION: Seems too simple to me When i set my "motion settings" to "People only Mode", a recording event is successfully started when people are detected. If a record event is occurring, the lights should also be triggered when it is dark or when the schedule suggests the light should be triggered simultaneously with a recording event. For example, above my driveway I have installed a floodlight cam. Gnats, YES GNATS, are turning the lights on but not triggering a "people only mode" recording event. So my lights are turning on and off every 30 seconds. It is ridiculous. I have lights to the left and right of my driveway, but the Ring floodlight cam does a great job of lighting up practically my entire front yard. I would like to tell my ring floodlight camera "if it is between the hours of 8pm and 7am, and a "people only mode" recording event (people motion) has been triggered, TURN THE FLOOD LIGHTS ON simultaneously when the recording begins. Right now, light activated motion seems separate from camera recording...that seems very counterintuitive. In "people only mode", there should be an option to turn the lights on at night only when people are detected. For people that have lights near their floodlight cam, lights that might brighten the area around the cam making it incredibly sensitive to bug motion or GNATS (gnats for god's sake), a scheduled light event should be triggered coordinated with the recording event. This is annoying enough to make me want to return BOTH floodlight cams. If the spotlight cams behave in the same way (recently ordered them havent received), it will be enough for me to return the entire system.
