[Ring Protect Go](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4416525091092-Ring-Protect-Go-Subscription-for-Car-Cam) provides an LTE connection for your Car Cam and allows you to download videos from the Event History. To download local video, Car Cam will need to be powered and connected to the internet. This internet connection can either be through wifi or the LTE connection provided by Ring Protect Go. Local video will downloaded in 20 second clips.   But what if the car is stolen and the camera is then disconnected. The only footage captured would be the thief entering the car and then disabling the cam. Will I have access to that footage in the app and can download if needed? Is it immediately uploaded to the cloud?

You can find a breakdown of which Car Cam events are stored as Cloud Highlights with the Ring Protect Go plan [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/13176587043348-Ring-Car-Cam-Video-Storage-and-Event-Types-). Anything saved locally can only be viewed and saved if the Car Cam is powered and connected to wifi or LTE. Cloud Highlights can be viewed and saved regardless of whether or not the Car Cam is powered, as those videos are already uploaded to the cloud.
