Bright flashing of floodlights, ignoring settings

Recently purchased and installed a Ring Floodlight Cam Pro. It frequently will flash very bright at moments, even without something triggering the motion. This is despite changing the settings to reduce the sensitivity, lowering the brightness it even disabling light response to motion entirely. I have reset it and done the whole setup process a couple times.  I replaced an older ring floodlight camera whose camera lense had oxidized until I could not really see the videos, which did not do this. Is this expected behavior? Only way I have found to solve is to power down the camera entirely.
