We recently bought a house with existing ring cameras. Prior owners claim they deleted the devices from their account but we have been unsuccessful in getting the devices assigned to us. Ring support has been unhelpful. Is there anything else we can do? They will not stop blinking which is driving us crazy. It’s a possible invasion of privacy as well, frankly.

Hi @MARS18. When it comes to [device ownership](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038010351-I-Would-Like-to-Take-Over-Change-Ownership-of-Ring-Devices) with Ring devices, there are a few different solutions you can try. 1) If you have contact with the previous owner, you can ask them to uninstall the device(s) from their Ring app. Forward the link to this page so they know the proper steps they need to take to release the Cameras for setup. 2) If you have no way to contact the previous owner, you should see an option in the Ring app to initiate the device transfer. [Make sure you have the latest version of the Ring app to see if you can initiate the device transfer in the app.](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/204384784-Downloading-and-Updating-the-Ring-App) When you go through the setup process in the Ring app, follow the prompts to [request ownership](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025997592-Ring-Doorbell-and-Security-Camera-Moving-Guidelines-). If you do not see the option to make a request, and you're sure you have the latest version of the app, please reach out to our [support team](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406-Contact-Us) for further assistance.
