Battery door keeps saying it’s open

I just recharged the battery on my camera and now I keep getting a pop up message on the app that the battery door is open. But it’s not open. I’ve made sure that it clicks when I shut it

Hi @Nancyhenderson! It certainly sounds like you are doing this correctly. If this is persisting even after giving the Ring app some time to update it's hatch status, try removing and reinserting the battery. During this process, please also check the battery contacts and the hatch for any debris or obstructions. It is always a good step to ensure wifi signal strength is optimal, so that this change can be communicated quickly and efficiently with the Ring app. I hope this helps! :)

None of this works. I am SO frustrated with this. I’m standing on a ladder and the d%}^\*# thing won’t work!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about this experience, @Nancyhenderson! This certainly is not the experience we intended with the Spotlight Cam. As the hatch door is likely still reporting as open, the Spotlight Cam may not power up or operate as intended, until the hatch is closed. As it sounds like you've tried a great many things, this hatch concern should not be persisting. We definitely do not want you spending too much time on a ladder. The best next step here will be to reach out to our support team for more in-depth troubleshooting.
