Change Ring Protect Plus Plan from Monthly Billing to Annual

I’m currently subscribed to the Protect Plus Plan with montly payments and would like to change to annuel. Is there any way to do this? The only options in “My Plans” are to Edit Payment Method or Cancel Plan. I don’t see any way to change it to Annual Billing without presumably canceling my current monthly plan and starting a new annual one. Thanks.

Hey @jonezer4. You would indeed need to cancel your current plan for a monthly billing cycle to then sign up for the annual one to switch it over. If you are unable to cancel or sign up for the new plan, please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available here for further assistance.

This seems counter intuitive considering i have to maintain a plan to keep my extended warranty but if I cancel then I would loose my benefits

You also lose your videos on the server. This is horrible, there needs to be a feature to change from monthly to annual. Other vendors have that option, this is the first time it's been costly to go from monthly to annual.

I was able to call Ring Support today (May 2022) and a customer service rep helped me change the billing for my Protect Plus plan from monthly to yearly. They even prorated the yearly plan with the amount left on my current monthly plan. They assured me that the videos would be retained and that the warranty extension on the covered devices would remain in effect. I have verified that I still have video and event history for the devices.

I saw your comment and decided to do the same thing. When I called, it seemed like the representative had no idea how to switch me from monthly to yearly, but she eventually figured it out. I had 10 days left on my monthly plan, so I assumed either they will prorate one of the plans or the yearly plan will start after the monthly plan ends. Nope! The yearly plan started immediately and neither plan was prorated. I called again to ask for a prorated refund for the remaining time on the monthly plan, and the representative said they don’t do prorated refunds for monthly plans, but he will process a full refund to me as a one-time courtesy.

What an unhelpful system. You would imagine they would want to make it easy to swap plans… but oh no! It boggles my mind.
