Why have you removing modes from the dashboard?

I frequently use modes to temporarily disable one or more cameras. For example, if I'm in the back garden, I don't want to be continually getting notifications of my motion in the back garden but I still want to know what is happening out front. My life (not to mention the weather) isn't planned out to the n-th degree that I can set this up on a schedule. I am interested to know how you think I should manage this situation going forward? For the record, the rapid increase in subscription costs has already made me regret not choosing Nest instead of Ring and in fact has put me off buying more devices for now. This latest degradation of service is just adding insult too injury.

Hi @user_db9377. To clarify, the Modes feature will no longer be available for Ring Basic subscribers on September 7th, 2024. To access Modes, you will need to be subscribed to the Ring Plus plan, which is recommended for users with 2 or more Ring devices at one location. If you remain on the Basic plan, you will still be able to adjust individual camera Motion Schedules, Smart Alerts, and privacy settings.

In other words your are removing a feature I've already paid for? Sounds like breach of contract to me. I went with basic because at the time it was cheaper to do that for two devices than Plus (that was just before you increased the price by 42%). Nest subscription cost is 25% less (and I'm betting you'll increase your cost massively again next year). Whatever, I'll be transitioning to Nest and they may also be the case for my other Amazon devices of this is how you treat you customers.

I'd like to add my voice to the growing dissent. I purchased this product because it was recommended by a friend. I live in an area with a lot of foot-traffic (my apartment building has issues as well). My Ring has been INSIDE my apartment as an added security feature. I paid for a full year of service up front. It was a financial hardship, but a necessary one. And now, in order to have the same features as I had yesterday, I'm expected to pay DOUBLE THE AMOUNT that was already a difficult purchase? I'm returning my Ring to Amazon and getting a prorated refund from Ring. Their duplicitous business dealings are simply unacceptable! Why not grandfather in existing customers or start the price increase at the next renewal?! This is just corporate greed because they think they're the only game in town!!
