Tampered door device
contact-sensor

I have a door sensor which almost every time I shut the door the cover moves slightly and provides a tampered warning. Once I tap the cover, it slides back and all is well. How can I prevent the inadvertent tamper notices. Should you send me a new door contact device. And putting tape across the device is not an acceptable solution….

Hi there, @Karlbrondell! Great work figuring out the culprit being the loose cover. I recommend taking that housing down, and ensuring the cover can slide on and stay on securely. If part of your cover is damaged, or the cover is not staying closed as intended, with normal operation, our support team can certainly help further. Please give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406). We’re taking additional steps to protect our team and help reduce the spread of COVID-19, so this has resulted in longer than normal wait times. If you are outside of the US, please read our response to COVID-19 [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360041597471) to see how to contact support.

Thank you for the reply. I’ve done all you suggested and it still slips a bit when the door closes.

Hi @Karlbrondell. How close is the Contact Sensor to the door? With the Gen 2 Contact Sensor, the magnet and the sensor can be up to 1" apart. This may give you the clearance necessary to be able to close the door without issue.
