Spiders setting off camera at 2 in the morning
Bad thing with these ring cameras spiders and webs setting off alarms during the middle of the night. There has to be a fix or these things are garbage

Hi @user_5d606c. Motions close to the lens are likely to trigger a motion event, which is unfortunately common with spiders that are attracted to the light on the camera. You could try treating the area around your Ring Camera with an essential oil, like peppermint oil or castor oil, as this can act as a deterrent to the spiders. Another option is to try out the Smart Alerts feature. This allows you to differentiate between people and other motions, which can reduce the amount of alerts you receive for things like spiders. A Ring Protect plan is required for this feature.

Check to see if you have Other Motion toggled on (located in Motion Settings, and then Smart Alerts). We had the same problem until we toggled off Other Motion.
