Hey neighbors. The Ring Alarm Keypad is not meant to be hardwired into an existing alarm panel. It has a rechargeable battery that can be recharged with the included charging cable. We also don't recommend attempting to hardwire your Keypad, as dismantling it or cutting wires may void the [warranty](https://ring.com/warranty) on your Keypad.

EI believe you are misunderstanding as this is not doing anything to the keypad. It’s a USB adapter that will convert the power to 5V to properly charge the pad via USB.

THi @ericsysmin. No, we understand what the OP is trying to accomplish. Modifying a Keypad, or any Ring Device, to operate outside of the way it was intended is not recommended. Especially if this deals with powering the device, as too much power can be hazardous.

DI think if you’re listening to your customers, you would know that this is a common request and should come up with a way to accommodate putting the keypad over an existing wired placement that was used for previous alarm system. Many of us do not want to run the power cord for the keypad down the wall it is unsightly.

These reportedly work: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08H89LTP5/ (though they may require some of the plastic of the plug to be shaved down to fit in the keypad)
