Outdoor siren power
Last week, i bought an outdoor siren, power adapter (Ring) and battery (also Ring). Am i correct in thinking this is all i need to permanently power the siren? Can i remove the D batteries from siren as i do not plan on using them and i do not want to get up ladder again?

Well that’s new. Up to now we’ve been told we MUST have the D-Cells in place, they must not be removed. In fact on your website it still states you must have the D-Cells installed even if you have other power sources installed. Who is right please?

ZI haven’t got round to installing it yet (trying to summon courage to go up ladder) and im now concerned. Once installed, i dont want to go up ladder again. I just want to fit & forget. Could someone from Ring please elaborate on if the rechargeable battery, power adaptor and D batteries are needed or not?

THi @Zeb1. There’s not a good reason to not install the included D-Cell batteries. They come with the outdoor siren and with average use, they will last around 3 years. If you are planning on hardwiring, you’ll also be using the Quick Release Detachable Battery that all of our Ring devices use. The combination of all of these power sources installed will result in you only have to replace these batteries in about 3 years.

Hi @Zeb1. Yes you can remove the D batteries from your Outdoor Siren and use just the Power Adapter and battery pack. This Help Center page has further information on the Outdoor Sirens power sources.
