wire wound resistor- doorbell 3
Support says the wirewound resistor is not needed for hardwired video doorbell 3 but the description of the resistor on the Ring site says it is- [https://store.ring.com/products/wirewound-resistor?](https://store.ring.com/products/wirewound-resistor?) Is this a mistake on the product description or is there a condition that it would actually be needed? I'm hoping to install the doorbell this weekend & want to do it right. Very confusing.

Hey @jjastro. The resistor is not needed for any installation of the Doorbell 3 or Doorbell 3 Plus. It looks like I answered your question in a different thread [here](https://community.ring.com/t5/Video-Doorbells/Ring-doorbell-3-hardwire/m-p/57126#M18824), in case you didn't see that as well. :)
