Ring Video Doorbell
Two solar panels connected to 1 ring doorbell
Is it possible to use two ring solar panels for one ring doorbell? It would be easy to splice the two solar panels together into one wire to the ring doorbell. I just don't know if one panel will damage the other from back voltage (ie one solar panel is outputting zero volts and the other has full voltage output). Also, what is the solar panel max voltage output?

If you don’t care about voiding the warranty it can be done BUT YOU MUST USE ISOLATING DIODES. A Schottky diode must be in series with each solar panel. This is the way commercial systems work. There are lots of papers written on how to do this. Google it. You could have one panel on each side of your house but you are correct - you must protect each panel from back voltage. Good luck. Hi @epatton. The intended use is to have one Solar Panel or Solar Charger per Doorbell. We can't guarantee the installation you're thinking of trying will work, as it's not designed to work that way. Additionally, cutting wires or dismantling your Ring devices may void the [warranty](https://ring.com/warranty), and we do not recommend doing so.
