Transferring Device Issue

Hello, I’ve recently moved a ring doorbell from my wife’s business front door to our home front door. Her business shut down during Covid and we’ve only just found the doorbell that was packed away into storage. We think the account it was linked to was an old business email address which we no longer have access to. I’ve tried registering the doorbell to a new account however we’re seeing the expected “already registered” notification, so we’ve chosen “transfer to this account”, which would take around 15 days. My question is will this automatically transfer after around this time or will I be waiting for nothing? Happy to take any advice or suggestions if anyone has anything to add, thanks.
