Ring Doorbell Pro not working with Deco M5 mesh Wi-Fi
For various reasons, I’ve had to install a TP-Link Mesh Wi-Fi system in my home. I’ve managed to connect all of my WiFi devices to my new Mesh network EXCEPT my Ring Doorbell Pro. I now see on here there have been problems with this combination. However the problems were all over a year ago. Surely Ring has fixed it by now? Help, please :-)

I have the same issue. The problem is that the ring cameras will stay attach to any DECO mesh node that is available at the time it connects. If you boot a mesh node the camera will attach to any available node regardless of where it is located. For what ever reason the routing of the images in live view can get confused when the node that you booted has recovered. I have resolved the issue by physically hitting the reset button on each camera and reconnecting the cameras to the WIFI network manually through the ring app. The cameras will work until next time you reboot your DECO mesh environment and you have to do the whole thing over again. My long term solution was to attach another router as an access point to the mesh and connect my cameras to that new router. This is the only thing that worked. Ring and TP-Link support were clueless and both apps are terrible. Ring does not show IP address for its cameras and TP-Link make you hunt for MAC address.

This is what worked for me: In the Deco app create a guest network that only runs 2.4Ghz Rename it so it has no special characters. Turn Fast roaming off Beamforming to off Make sure you are WPA2 and not WPA3

Thanks for the instructions! I had the same problem with my Ring Doorbell Pro 2, after I installed a Deco Mesh X-55 network in the ‘Access’ mode connected to a Netgear Nighthawk Router. After contacting Ring Customer Service multiple times and unable to reach TP Link Mesh support, I followed the instructions you provided and it worked for me finally.

Hi @BarmyAnne. Is there a specific error you are having when connecting your Ring Pro? I would try to perform a reset on your device and then reconnect it to your wifi. You can perform a reset by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then release. This should allow your Ring Pro to connect. I hope this helps!
