Ring Doorbell detecting motion when using VR Headset
troubleshooting
hardwired-battery-video-doorbell

Since setting up HTC Vive basestations and trackers for use with an Oculus Quest 2, my Ring doorbell has been falsely detecting motion while I’m using the VR. The basestations used for the HTC Trackers use bright infrared LEDs, but they are not anywhere near visible by the camera. The doorbell is on a separate wi-fi network from the PC and headset. Again, the false detections ONLY happen WHILE USING the VR headset. Any ideas?

HI @Xevian. Where is the Ring Doorbell located in relation to where you're actively using the VR headset? Are you in view of the Doorbell at all, or is there anything reflective nearby that might be capturing your movement or the infrared LEDs? Otherwise, it's possible there's some interference occurring, but it really depends on where the Doorbell is located in relation to your VR setup.

My VR area is in an open loft. The doorbell is somewhere around 30 feet away from the loft but on the lower floor. Our front porch is somewhat enclosed, so the doorbell isn’t detecting the IR lights. The trackers to use USB receivers however. Perhaps they are causing a network interference? If so, how can we prevent the interference?
