Ring Doorbel Gen 2 says add a battery
Very odd issue. My device is.not seeing the battery. It says add a battery. The Gen 2 you cannot remove the battery. I have it hardwired in and you dont see it charge. It flashes blue but only at the top of the circle. I reinstalled it and camera says its updating firmware and when it comes back, it still says add a battery. Plus then the device is not working. I cannot press the doorbell to activate it. I then have to reset it and add a device set up again..All a vicious circle. Please help

Hi Justin, yes I have been pressing the reset button for 20-25 seconds. Its very strange because everytime I reset the device, it says "updating can take up to 15mins". After 15 mins or so I can click to live view, but nothing else is working. You cant press the button or move in fromtof it to alert the APP etc. Plus the "add a battery" is showing. Then it after couple of mins it just wont show live view because it says not enough battery for live view

Hi , I have the same red warning on 3rd generation camera saying add battery but camera is wired, I have been told by ring support after being told to reset camera that this is normal to show this warning, is this correct ?

Same thing. Spoke with Ring for ages. Tried hard reset, no dice. Ring say it’s caput, and have offered 30% off a new doorbell. They also say that even though it was hard wired I should have removed it from the wall every few months and charged it. What a poor product! So I’m sorry, but I’m not paying out £200 every 2 years plus £35 a Year subscription for another one of these. I’m buying a Blink to go with my cameras. Wasn’t happy with the lack of a Ring app on my Apple Watch anyway.

Hi @user29601. Verify that when you reset the Doorbell, you are pressing and holding the setup button for 20–25 seconds, and then it should start flashing blue for a few seconds. If you have done this correctly and are still having the same concern, give our support team a call at one of the numbers available [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213608406) for further assistance.
