Nothing but 8 blue flashes when setup button held doorbell2

Video doorbell 2 is not responding to anything and is not connected to any internet. I get 8 blue flashes when i insert the battery or hold the setup button for a few seconds but that is it. It is typically installed by my door and also hard wired in but just stopped recording anything a couple of days ago. I removed it completely and fully charged the battery with the intent on resetting it to try and solve the problem but instead I get nothing from it. I cant seem to find anything online about 8 flashes so hopefully someone has had something similar they have overcome. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

Hi @Boyblunder51. When resetting your Video Doorbell 2, make sure you're holding down the setup button for at least 20 seconds in order to complete a full reset. After that, you can then walk the Doorbell through a fresh setup in the Ring App by using the steps under Set Up a Device. This should allow you to get your Doorbell reconnected to your wifi network and back up and running. I hope this helps! :)

Hello Caitlyn, I have the same problem with a 2 model. I have reset the device and done a fresh set-up. It is connected to the wifi, and the app on my phone and when the Ring is pressed it does send the alert to the app, but it still flashes blue 8 times about every 30 seconds. Please tell me how I can fix this...Thanks,James

Hi @user_9e4e4e. Can you please share a video example of the light flashing blue 8 times in a row? Additionally, can you confirm the model name from the Device Health page in the Ring app? There's both the Video Doorbell 2 and the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen, so it would be helpful to know specifically which one you have.

Hello Caitlyn,It is the Video Doorbell 2nd generation - it looks like model '5UM5E5". Here is a link to the video on a google drive. It is actually 9, not 8, flashes...James
