Ring Video Doorbell
Instructions on setting up two Ring doorbells
I’m thinking of upgrading at our front door from an original Ring doorbell to a Ring doorbell 3, and placing the original doorbell near the back door. Can anyone point me to instructions on how to do that and get them working together?

Thanks, Tom. If I wire the doorbell and it doesn’t activate the house chime, I don’t mind because I use the doorbell with a Ring Chime Pro. But even though the house chime doesn’t work with the Ring doorbell, does the wiring still power the Ring doorbell and charge the battery? How do I test to confirm that the wiring is powering the doorbell?

CHi @a4edb4316d7f55fab64e, happy to chime in here. I want to clarify that when you hardwire a battery powered Ring Doorbell, it will still be powered by the battery, not the wiring. The doorbell wiring can help provide a trickle charge to extend the amount of time between charges. If you have an existing doorbell circuit already, you can follow the instructions here to install the Doorbell 3 to this wiring. If you want to exclude the chime kit in your home, or you don’t have a chime kit, then you’ll want to follow these instructions for wiring the Doorbell 3 directly to a low voltage transformer. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi @a4edb4316d7f55fab64e. This Help Center article [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042031971-How-to-Connect-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-3-Directly-to-a-Low-Voltage-Transformer-Without-a-Pre-existing-Doorbell-) outlines a few different wiring diagrams that may fit your needs. I would look at these to get you pointed in the right direction. Remember to always shut off power when wiring the Ring Doorbell and if needed, contact a licensed and trusted electrician. I hope this helps!
