Using USB batt for "Indoor Camera 2nd Gen"?
Hi all, I installed 3 wired Indoor cams in a country house and lately discovered the power fails more than desired. The router is battery protected so I don’t loose the alarm, but I loose the cameras because these are wired. I tried to install an USB 5,5v power bank between the camera and the USB like Ring wall adapter but it doesn’t work. As I was a little bit surprised I connected the camera cable to a regular (phone) USB charger and the camera didn’t work… Do somebody have an explanation for this ? Did some of you tried something similar or had a similar experience? Thanks.

Hi @marmendo. The Indoor Cam (2nd Gen) is designed to be plugged into a standard power outlet using the micro USB cable and power adapter it comes with. It is not designed for use with external batteries or power banks, which is likely why you are having issues. If you experience regular power outages, a battery powered camera may work better, though the battery will need to be charged on occasion.
