Stick up cam 3rd gen solar stuck with status connected
Hello. I installed brand new stick up cam 3rd gen about 1 month ago. Everything worked great. After about 1 week I had to adjust camera position and for a few minutes disconnected cable from solar panel. Since then solar status says “Connected” and battery is not charged. I tried multiple cam reboots, resets, removed cam completely from my account and repeat complete installation. Nothing has changed. Even when I changed camera power from battery to plug in, application stated that power cable is disconnected, but solar status was reported as connected. So it seems my solar setup is stuck somewhere in cloud. Is there any chance to resolve it? Thank you.

I am also having this issue (same cam, same solar setup, same troubleshooting steps, same outcome). I have the same question: Why does the ring app always state the cam is connected to solar, even when the cam is connected to nothing but the battery? Seems as though the problem of the solar panel not charging the battery and the cam not correctly detecting when the solar panel is connected could be related.

Hi @martinno. The Ring Solar Panel provides a trickle charge to the battery in your Stick Up Cam, which can help extend the amount of time between needing to manually charge the battery. To troubleshoot this, disconnect the Ring Solar Panel connector, then reboot the Stick Up Cam by using the reboot option on the Device Health page. After the reboot is done, reconnect the Solar Panel, ensuring it is firmly plugged into the camera. Additionally, check that your Stick Up Cam is receiving several hours of direct sunlight per day. If the camera has started recording more events than before, the battery may drain more quickly than it can receive a trickle charge from the Solar Panel. If the battery still appears to not be charging, please reach out to our support team to take a closer look.
