Restart after Dead Battery - using Battery Cam and Solar Panel?
I have a Battery Cam with a solar panel and 2 batteries. Will the ring camera come back on line after the batteries have gone dead, once the solar panel is charging again? If Not this would be a great new feature. Should not be to hard to keep the WIFI/SSID/LOGIN info in non volatile ram so restart would be possible.

Tom_Ring, that is good information. So to make sure I understand, when the sun comes back out (tough call in Michigan!!!) will the Solar Panel - "trickle charge" the batteries enough that the camera will reconnect?

THi @user_ea580e. No, it won't. Once the battery dies, it will need to be reinserted to initiate setup mode. Once that happens, it is in setup mode, it can reconnect. If your device were to fall offline because of another reason, it would be able to reconnect, just not after a dead battery.

UI am happy to report, that once the batteries received a charge from the solar panel, the ring camera came back online, all by itself. No need to remove charge and reinsert batteries. That’s a really great design, glad I chose Ring for my camera supplier.

Hi @user_ea580e. The Solar Panel will extend the charge of the battery, but when the battery dies, it will need to be disconnected and recharged. The Solar Panel will only trickle charge the battery.
