Is New Floodlight Cam Plus made of cheaper materials?

For those of you that have the new Floodlight Cam Plus as well as the older versions, does the new Plus version seem to be made of cheaper materials? I saw many posts complaning that the new plastic mounting brackets (previously metal) are breaking upon install. Can the new Plus version be installed on the old metal mounting brackets if we still have them up? The lights on the Plus do not have tightening screws to hold them in place, so I worry that they might loosen over time and start to droop. The new Plus version is about $70 cheaper than the older version used to cost.... I wonder if any of the internal parts were also downgraded....

doesn't seem cheaper to me but my sounds is putting out weird garbled sounds when I turn the mic on. new camera first call to support right after installation. this is BS.
