Hardwiring Ring Cam w/outlet plug

I have a Ring Spotlight Cam Wired.  It looks like there is a kit to be purchased so you can hardwire the cam directly into the house wiring, eliminating the outlet plug/cord.   I pulled up instructions for install to verify I'm headed in the right direction.  What I am running into is the list of items included in the kit does not show a backbox.  The instructions shows a backbox being utilized.  Also,  the kit includes a "pogo pin conversion collar".  It has two wires, one black, one red.  The instructions show the wiring using 3 wires. One brown, one blue, one white.  (wish we could post pics.  would make this easier)  I've done everything I can to make sure the instructions and the kit are for the same device.  Both show to be for Spotlight Cam Wired.  The outlet plug is only 2 wires - no ground.   Has anyone run into this?  Any advice / suggestions welcome !   Thanks
