U
Disabling motion?
troubleshooting

I have 2 cameras. 1 stickup 3rd gen and indoor first gen. I have more but these two are giving me problems. In the ring app in each camera I goto settings and disable motion alerts. Which stays disabled. But motion detection when I turn off it says stop recording. I don't know why I just don't want my echo announcing motion detected. I don't want to stop recording. But anyhow I say stop recording and all is good on both cameras. It stops recording and announcing that motion is detected. But then I the morning it starts announcing again. Not sure why. In the app when I check motion detection is back on. It does not stay disabled. I have to disable it every so often. It never stays fully disabled. Not sure why. Or if I unplug the indoor camera and move it somewhere the motion goes back on. Why can't it just stay disabled in the app?Edit: I can't seem to reply. Anyhow:I found out about modes from reddit. I had no idea. I mean I know there is home and away. But disabled is disabled. Motion never stays disabled. Alerts stay disabled. But when I change from no alarm to home or away the motion detection slider is back on. Alerts stay off but detection is back on. Not sure why. And when I disable alarm (2nd gen) it stays on and I manually have to toggle it off again. It's annoying. Because then my echo dot globe 4th gen announces someone detected at the camera everytim someone walks by. It should stay disabled no matter what mode I am in.
