Delay in recording- only see the person walking away

I have the battery version of ring camera with the lightAnd day or night there is always a significant delay in recording so that it only records people walking awayIve got the camera to catch a neighbour continuously vandalising my vehicle; ive had my number plate stolen and repeated damage made to the panelsBut it only ever records when someone is walking away making the ring camera basically uselessIve messed around with the motion sensor and other settings but noticed a closed thread on this same topic and ring do nothing about it to rectify the issueBasically the camera does not work as described
