"Enable Modes" is grayed out, thus can no longer change my mode from Away to Home
As always, when I left on a trip three weeks ago, I changed my Ring Mode setting from Home to Away. Upon my returning home, my device no longer allows me to change the Mode back to Home. Under "Settings," then "Modes and Automations," the "Enable Modes" command is grayed out. If I tape it, a notice comes up stating that I need a Ring Plan to change the Modes. But I have always had a Ring plan and have not changed it! I am still on the "Protect Basic" Plan. Has this plan's functionality been downgraded to no longer allow me to change Modes? What's happening? Why has "Enabled Modes" been grayed out?

They have made this feature available only if you do their upgraded plan from the basic. This is ridiculous since this was on the basic plan for years. I only have the doorbell and don't want to pay $50 more a year for something I already had in my plan. This is unacceptable from such a big company. They do not respond to this when questioned except to upgrade to the other plan. Looking for other doorbells that provide this service without trying to rip you off.

I recently spent 20 minutes with a Ring support supervisor expressing my frustration and disappointment with the modes features being removed from the basic plan. This was an important feature unilaterally remove by Ring. In addition, I paid for a 1 yr basic subscription which included this feature. Now it’s no longer part of the basic plan. Corporate “bait and switch.” Supervisor was understanding, but unwilling to push my call to the corporate level. Removing that feature is nonsense! As you said, it is a popular feature that most everyone uses. Just another example of corporate greed. SMH I hope many other users loudly complain about the removal of this feature. If you’re reading this, please call and complain to a supervisor. Maybe we can get the feature restored until our annual subscription expires. If this doesn’t happen, they will lose me as a customer, since moving up to the next plan makes no financial sense to me. I only own 1 doorbell. I AM CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU to file a complaint. I urge others to follow suit.

Same exact situation for me. Modes is grayed out says I need a plan which I have. Also, I could always tell Alexa to disarm but now she just says 'Home ring isn't responding.'
