Cameras won’t record 24/7

Hello everyone.  I’ve upgraded to the 24/7 recording. I know I need constant power so I bought 3 adaptors from eBay for my 3 cameras from an electrical guy. They plug in fine and charge the battery whilst still in the camera but in the app it shows as a solar charger that is plugged in and not a power socket so it won’t let me change it to 24/7 recording in the app.  Question is, do I really need to buy 3 x £40 official Ring plug in adaptors to get 24/7 recording or am I doing something wrong?  Thanks in advance.
