Ring App for Android: No Login Requirement is a security hole?
As a new user of Ring and the Ring App, I may have missed something but... having installed the android app, and set up all my Ring security system easily, including adding my door lock, I wonder why I do not need to log into the app to bring it up on my phone? No password, fingerprint, iris, or face recognition, just click the icon and up it comes. If I open my online banking app, it makes me log in, or provide a fingerprint: same goes for other "sensitive" apps. But not the Ring App. I have enabled two factor security, but that just means when I log into this forum, I have to provide the code that is texted to my phone. I still get to see the Ring security system from my phone without providing any security factors, just a single click and I can unlock my front door, turn off the alarms and anything else I see fit to mess with... So if I lose the phone, I am relying upon the finder not figuring out my phone's 4 digit screenlock, 'cos if they do so they then get to unlock my front door, switch the system off and walk in... Surely not...

Hi @drhdrhdrhdrh. The Ring App keeps you logged in so that you can receive push notifications from your devices and access them quickly. If you sign out of the Ring App, you would not receive push notifications. In the event that your phone is ever lost, I would recommend resetting your password from the website immediately, as resetting the password will sign you out of the Ring App as well.
