Ring App
“Menu Icon” Notification Will Not Go Away
Does anyone know how to remove the small Red dot on the Menu icon in the top left corner of the Dashboard screen in the iPadOS version of the Ring app WITHOUT clicking on the "Shop Deals" menu choice? I have tried a variety of strategies, including selecting the “Checkmark icon” in the upper right corner of the “What's New” screen. Not only did this fail to remove the small Red dot (mentioned above), but it ADDED an obnoxious “Number icon” (with a Red background) to the left of the Shop Deals menu choice. I specifically do NOT want to know about any “deals” on Ring products. I STRONGLY object to the (relentless) marketing/advertising in the Ring app (and Neighbors app), and thus, have no interest in being forced to view it (or acknowledge it). If Ring is going to use any Red dots, Red badges, Red number icons, etc., it should be for the benefit of the user. For example, warning the user that there is a problem with one or more hardware devices. These tactics should NEVER be used in an attempt to trick users into viewing/acknowledging marketing/advertising (or punishing users for refusing to do so).

Caitlyn_Ring - I don't understand why you are referring me to a thread that is discussing a different menu option in the Ring app. Are you implying that selecting the “Checkmark icon” in the “What's New” menu option will PERMANENTLY suppress/prevent: * All occurrence of a Red dot on the Menu icon in the top left corner of the Dashboard screen in the Ring app * All occurrences of Red Number badges on all screens in the Ring app * All occurrences of Red Number icons on all screens in the Ring app

C@Frustrated427 To clarify, this will not permanently remove the red dot from appearing, but will clear multiple notices if you have not viewed any new notices that have been posted recently. Thank you for sharing your feedback on this feature, I'll make sure to pass it along to the appropriate team as we're always working to make the Ring App a more enjoyable experience. :)
