Ring App
Customize the Dashboard
Hello all, Is there a way to set up the dashboard the way you want to see what is going on. Now I have the Neighbors, History, Front Door lock, Is there a way to change those to what I want IE lights, Sensors, and so on. Thanks Tom

Boone, That dont work. After looking around all over. I chatted with Ring and there is no way to edit those 3 that Ring has set up. So I asked them to pass it along to the group to see if that can let the user put in what they want to see.

Well @bigtwinharley2011 , **it does work** , at least on my phone Ring app. So something must be different between you and me. I'm located in the USA and utilize an Android Samsung S-5 Smartphone. Ring has provided this feature on my phone, and maybe if you are in another country or using an iPhone app, the change has not been implemented yet, but on its way.

BThanks Boone, Yes I am in the USA as well. I have a IPhone. The items I am talking about I circled in red. I can tap and hold on my cameras and move then around. But the 3 items in red it will not let me. Please let me know if you can move them with your Android Samsung S-5 Smartphone and if so then I can chat with Ring again to let them know that a Android users can do this. Thanks

That picture helped clarify that we are indeed talking about the same thing. Yes, with my Android I can swipe left/right on it to display more than three icons, and the "Edit" icon, to change what icon is Visible or Hidden and in what order I want them displayed on the Shortcut Banner. Since you have an iPhone, as does my spouse, I tried it on her iPhone and discovered two things that I didn't know before. - Yes, her iPhone also can perform the swipe left/right/edit action on the Shortcut banner if her iPhone is logged in with my primary Ring "Owner" email/password log in. -No, her phone cannot perform the swipe left/right/edit action on the Shortcut banner if logged in with her "Shared User" email/password log in. Evidently, the ability to swipe/modify or display more than a few Icons on the Shortcut banner section is something only the primary Ring "Owner" can do (logging on with Ring's Owner email/password). Now, I would think that as a "Shared User" with my Owner's authorization to control the Alarm system, that she should be able to display the "Alarm Shortcut" icon button too . . . but she can't. As an authorized "Shared User" she still has the ability to control the Ring Alarm system with her phone App by the normal method, but just not with a handy Shortcut. Since this swipe feature on the Short banner is relatively new, maybe this option for Shared Users was an app code-writer's oversight and/or a possible future app update. So, @bigtwinharley2011 , since you are in the USA, your iPhone should have received an automatic Ring App update, and you should be able to swipe. If not, maybe you are logged into Ring as a "Shared User" or your phone app isn't updated with the latest version. So you can either check for the update using your iPhone's App manager or re-install and then re-install the Ring App, if you are using the Owner log-on and still unable to swipe. Hope this helps you :) When you figure it out, I am curious and would like to hear why your iPhone could not swipe on the Shortcut Banner.

It isn't an app code-writer's oversight concerning the "ShortCuts" for Shared Users. A Shared User can do just anything needed (as long as the Owner has authorized it) except the following: - Change Device Settings. - Add and Delete Users. - Access billing and account settings. [https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029632312](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029632312) And even though my spouse knows my Ring "Owner" email/password information, we both prefer her logged in as a "Shared User." Because she has a knack of accidentally changing or messing up some device settings, after I get them tweaked just right. So, it makes sense to me now that as a Shared User, she cannot have an "Alarm Shortcut" Icon because that Icon would be useless for her, since a Shared User does not have access to change the alarm's settings. She can still change Alarm Modes, but just not change alarm device settings. :)

While on your main Dashboard, swipe left on the Shortcuts until you see the the "Edit" icon on the far right, and click on "Edit." Then on this Edit screen, you can now modify which Shortcuts you want to be **displayed (Visible Shortcuts)** or those shortcuts that you **don't want displayed (Hidden Shortcuts)** on your dashboard. You can even change the order the shortcuts are displayed on the dashboard, by holding your finger on the far-right "=" icon, to then move each shortcut up or down (which will show up as left-to-right on your dashboard). You stated, "_I want IE lights, Sensors, and so on_" , therefore you'll want to add "Lights" and also "Alarm" (to get your sensors) to your Visible Shortcuts. Remember you may have to swipe left/right on these Dashboard shortcuts if you have more than three Visible Shortcuts. I hope this helps you :)
