Range extender
If I already have a range extender for the Ring doorbell do I need to add the extender for the Ring alarm?

Hi @Flacaplaca. The Ring Alarm system uses Z-Wave technology for all of the sensors to communicate with the Base Station, so it is separate from the direct wifi connection that your Doorbell has with your router or Chime Pro. You can learn more about it in [this](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001263166-Understanding-Z-Wave-and-Mesh-Networks) Help Center Article. Unless you have any Motion Detectors or Contact Sensors that have a poor signal or performance due to distance from the Base Station, you do not need to purchase an additional Range Extender. I'd also like to point out that the [Range Extender](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039905951) for the Ring Alarm system is not the same as the [Chime Pro](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038168452-Ring-Chime-Pro-2nd-Generation-Information), or wifi extender, for your Doorbells and Cameras. I hope that helps! :)
