Number of Contact Sensors Required For Double Sliding Windows

My home has 7 sliding windows that can be opened from either side and 4 doors. Am I correct in assuming that each sliding window requires 2 contact sensors - 1 for each side? If so, this means that I need to purchase 14 contact sensors for the sliding windows alone which is expensive. Are there other alternatives/suggestions that I should consider to help reduce costs?

Hi @MKUltra. Could you post a picture of the windows in question? This will help the Community determine if more than one sensor is needed.

Contact sensors can usually be found on sale. That said, when you have a lot of them, it may be worth looking into the option of wiring wired contact sensors, which are much cheaper. Then you would be able to use the Ring Alarm Retrofit kit.
