Motion sensors and camera IR stay active when disarmed and detection is off

Question

Why do Ring motion sensors continue detecting motion even when the alarm is disarmed and motion detection is turned off? Also, why do infrared lights on Ring cameras stay on even when motion detection is disabled? There should be a setting to completely inactivate these devices per mode to save battery and extend device life.

Hi @user_38487c. Even though the infrared lights are turning on, if you have motion detection turned off, it will not record. You will not be able to toggle off the infrared lights.
