Disabling Ring alarm 2nd gen Motion Sensors completely to preserve battery

Is there a way to disable the Ring alarm (2nd gen) motion sensors completely when disarmed to help preserve the battery charge? Note, I'm not asking about disabling notifications, but about disabling motion sensors completely when disarmed (because I saw in the app that they continuously detect motion even when the system is disarmed). Thanks
