Ring Alarm
Can Dome Siren sound without Base Alarm going off?
I want to make it so the Dome Siren can be triggered independently of the Ring Alarm Base Station. I would still have the Base Station since it is required; I just don't want its alarm to go off. I only want the Dome Siren to trigger. Is this possible?

It does help, thanks! I am trying to find the most automated way to do this. Basically, we have folks coming into the neighborhood going through all the trash and recycle cans. Any personal information is at risk, and they have been leaving messes behind, as well. My plan was to modify a contact sensor (little bit of plastidip to seal it), and use a strong adhesive to attach it to the lid. Then, I was going to super adhesive a Dome Siren underneath the garbage can. I would either use the Ring App or an Alexa Routine every trash night to "arm" the Dome Siren. So, when the lid is raised, the alarm goes off. Perfect deterrent.

So, when the lid is raised, the alarm goes off. Perfect deterrent. Ohhhhh, I understand now. Sounds complicated for your intended deterrent-purpose. I'd like to later hear if it works outs for you. :) Have you considered an alternative solution, such as the Ring Flood or Spotlight Cameras? Both of these already have a built-in outdoor-siren (weather resistant) and these cams could possibly monitor your trash cans? But as far as I know, neither the Ring Flood nor Spotlight Cameras sound-off automatically, and will still require a manual activation (unless you figure out a routine for Alexa). I do not own neither the Ring Flood nor Spotlight cameras, so maybe somebody else might have already solved the Siren Auto-Activation for deterrent purposes. The Dome Siren is not intended for outdoor use (not weather resistant). The Dome Siren would also have to remain within the Z-Wave range to the Base Station. If your trash-cans are metal, that might also reduce the Z-Wave range. Then, you might need a Z-Wave extender to connect the Siren and Contact-sensors back to the Alarm Base Station. Another alternative could be purchasing a non-Ring, Wi-Fi or Z-Wave controlled alarm device that might better suited for trash-can deterrent. But either way, I truly would be interested in your final solution, to scare critters (non-human) from my trash cans too! :)

Yes, you can trigger ONLY the Dome Siren without activating the siren on your Base Station. But doing it quickly is not easy. From the main menu select "Devices" and then \> Alarm Base Station \> Dome Siren \> Test Siren. If you want to sound the Sirens, but not send a alarm notification to the Professional monitoring people, there is a fast way to do that, but the Dome Siren AND the Base Station will sound. In multiple locations on your Ring App, you have quick access to the red "Exclamation Point" icon (upper-right corner of Dashboard, Camera video device, or on "Live View" by first tapping the blue "+" icon). If you tap that red "!" icon, you'll have 3 slide-choices of which emergency agency you need (it's nice you have 5 seconds to "un-slide" before it actually happens). There is a blue bar "Sound Siren Only" at the bottom, which does not notify the Professional monitor people. But tapping this blue bar will sound the Alarm Base Station in addition to the Dome Siren. I wasn't sure if you just didn't want to sound the Base Station, because you thought it always notified the monitors. Using the "!" and select the blue bar is a fast method to get sirens, then disarm to stop. I hope this information helps you :)
